World Gym Canada makes the choice to go with Global again! A newest World Gym in Fort McMurray, Canada was recently outfitted with top of the line Global Fitness Wholesale Equipment. World Gym is one of the largest workout facilities in Alberta, Canada with a 25,000 square foot layout and over 200 pieces of cardio and strength machines. After delivering & installing 6 truckloads of premier fitness equipment, the Fort McMurray World Gym Grand Opening was a huge success!

Fort McMurray is a remote city in Northern Alberta that is recognized as an urban service area within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. This city built their economy on refining oil from the sand back in the 1930’s. Today, Fort McMurray is considered the heart of Canada's major oil hubs.

Since a small, oil mining town like Fort McMurray craves entertainment and the need to stay healthy, gym memberships to this new facility are already in high demand. Global Fitness is very pleased to be to outfit the only major health club in Fort McMurray.

Peter Allen, a leading developer of high end commercial projects and custom spec homes, is the proud owner of the new the Fort McMurray World Gym. After several meetings (4 trips to the Global Fitness headquarters in Los Angeles and one to Puerto Vallarta) and many weeks of coordination, everything came together seamlessly. Well, almost seamlessly. Global Fitness prepared 6 truckloads with over 200 piece of fitness equipment for the delivery and installation of the new gym. Everything was scheduled to be in place just in time for the Grand Opening. But we will let you in on a secret… it almost didn’t go so smoothly.

During the delivery, one truck carrying 20 cardio pieces ran off the road and every piece of equipment was severely damaged. With 5 days to spare, Global Fitness immediately dispatched identical replacement machines to the client. This was only possible due to Global’s large inventory supply. No other vendor could have rectified this situation in such a manner.

The Grand Opening of the Fort McMurray World Gym took place on Saturday, September 18, 2010 and went off with a bang. This Opening featured Ronnie Coleman, the legendary body builder. Ronnie not only signed autographs but also took the time to complete a full workout on the new equipment and was able to strike a few poses for his fans.
