Cameroon Soccer Superstar Transitions To Fitness Club Executive

Former Futbol Goalie (American Soccer), Bassey William Andem, has become a first time health club owner in 2011. His new fitness chain in Cameroon, Africa is currently being fitted by Global Fitness and the first of several gyms is near completion.

Andem, former soccer pro born in Douala standing of 6’2”, was known for his above-average reflexes and played a long career as a goalkeeper for mostly Portuguese-speaking countries such as C.D. Feirense, Boavista F.C., Esporte Clube Bahia, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, and Union Douala.

Although Andem’s new venture started off on shaky group, Global Fitness was quick to find a resolution. A deal was signed with a fitness competitor but when this former pro arrived in LA, the equipment was not available and the competitor did not offer a refund on the deposit.

William approached Global for help. The team at Global quickly made suggestions to recoup funds as well as prepare fitness equipment on such short notice. Global Fitness has secured a 3 club deal for Andem. The first of three has shipped earlier this month and the additional two should be completed by the end of 2012.

Global Builds Bond to Reduce Deficit with China

It’s not a secret, China’s dominance on this global economic continues to impacts the USA. In 2010, the USA trade deficit with China is was $252 billion, the largest between any two countries. This is slightly down from the record high of $268 set in 2008.

On a brighter note, one of China’s former head executives of Ballys (a well known American Health Club Chain), started his own international chain of gym facilities as well as gym equipment distribution. This 21^st century entrepreneur signed an exclusive deal with Global Fitness to supply all the top brand fitness equipment, such as Precor and Life Fitness, to all of his club facilities worldwide as wells as an agreement to be the gym equipment reseller for their international clients.

Global Fitness Conquers The City of Onion Domes

Two large scale gym facilities in Moscow, Russia are currently being developed. Global Fitness will be supplying all the cardio and strength equipment for both facilities.

Global Fitness made quite the impression on this Moscow health club owner, “The level of service and quality Global provided was the reason for our choice. We did an extensive search throughout the LA area and Global Fitness had the best factory remanufactured procedures”, quotes Dmitri. Global was chosen from numerous remanufactured equipment warehouses across the USA.

Currently, 2 containers have been shipped to Russia to begin the process. The Grand Opening for the 1^st club is scheduled for May 1, 2011. After that, the 2^nd gym will be developed with a tentative date of completion sometime in 2012.

Moscow, the capital of Russia, is full of history, an extensive transit network and the most populous city on the continent of Europe and the seventh largest city proper in the world with a population of 10 million according to the most recent census.

Fitness clubs are becoming the latest trend in Russia. Due to the cold winter climate and extreme weather conditions in Moscow, it’s not conducive to workout outdoors.
